Vietnam from top to bottom

Vietnam from top to bottom

As the dreaded Chiang Mai burning season was about to start, the next three months were going to be spent in Vietnam. I was a little late on the flight tickets, so there was no affordable direct options available matching my dates. Thanks to this I decided to do something I had wanted for a long time; cross-country train in Asia. Chiang Mai to Bangkok, super affordable, and then spend a night in Bangkok night life, before flying direct to…

Chiang Mai, Thailand: The Digital Nomad Capital?

Chiang Mai, Thailand: The Digital Nomad Capital?

For those of you who didn’t know, digital nomad is a popularised name for digital professionals who live a nomadic lifestyle, much like myself. Some also call themselves location-independent entrepreneurs, but this post is not about terminology. When you talk about digital nomads, you most likely also talk about Chiang Mai. For some reason it is probably the most popular location for digital nomads, while also being popular among tourists in general. Thailand remains one of my favorite Asian countries,…

Experiencing Bali: Temples, trekking and mountain-biking

Experiencing Bali: Temples, trekking and mountain-biking

Two months passed quickly on Bali, and those were some great and productive months. I had the time to explore the island, experience local culture, combat nature and visit some very old temples. Mountain-biking Driving a motorbike is a great way to get around, and you get to experience much more than if you were driving a car. You get the same feeling from changing that motorbike for a mountain bike. With a private guide we got to ride around…

Living in Ubud

Living in Ubud

Ever since visiting Indonesia for the total solar eclipse of March 9th, 2016, I have wanted to live in the country. I fell in love with the welcoming locals, astonishing nature, extremely low prices and of course the typical laid-back Asian lifestyle. In addition to that, the Indonesian island of Bali, popular among tourists, is also a well known hotspots for digital nomads. Finally I get to try it out myself, as I am now living in Ubud. Most tourists…

My day in Singapore

My day in Singapore

Several people told me that a few days in Singapore would be enough. I decided to take it to the next level, and spend less than 24 hours in the city. The best flights to Bali would be either the day after arriving in Singapore, or half a week later. By flying the almost 13 hours to Singapore on business class, I was able to arrive well rested and ready to explore the city from about 18:00 until bed time….

To Singapore and beyond

To Singapore and beyond

Today I am flying Norwegian Premium to Singapore, and plan to spend the rest of 2017, and likely the first few months next year, in South East Asia. Thanks to the fear of a volcanic eruption, tickets and accommodation in Bali, Indonesia has dropped in price, and will be where I spend the first two months. Then, from Bali to Chiang Mai, Thailand for another two months. After Thailand I have not yet booked anything, but Vietnam will likely be…

Nationalpark indhyllet i røg

Nationalpark indhyllet i røg
